The lanterns are a collaboration between Art and Technology Education. Students create a clay-fired lantern that contains an electrical circuit. The objectives of the project include: identifying and using clay coils, identifying and using clay sculpting techniques, identifying and using ceramic glazes, identifying and creating an electrical circuit, identifying and assembling an electrical circuit, and identifying and using the design process to create a 3-panel brochure which outlines each step of the design and manufacturing process.
